Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) Degree in Higher Education

mike miller teaching

Two program options or major areas of specialization are offered within the doctoral program: college administration (including student personnel work) or college teaching. Within each of these areas, there is considerable flexibility to fashion programs of study tailored to unique student career goals. Students may focus on two- or four-year colleges or some other aspect of post-secondary education.

A third program option allows a student to propose a more individualized program of study combining elements of the first two options, though otherwise all requirements as cited below must be satisfied. Every program, no matter which option is selected, is subject to final approval by the student's advisor and his or her doctoral advisory committee.
