The Higher Education Leadership Program is practitioner-oriented with a primary focus on the preparation of academic and administrative professionals who are characterized by their competence and confidence to be effective leaders in the higher education workplace.
The graduate-level program awards the Master’s Degree (M.Ed.) in Higher Education (with specialization areas in Student Affairs and Organization/Administration) and the Doctor of Education Degree (Ed.D.) in Higher Education that centers on administration. HIED is part of the Department of Rehabilitation, Human Resources and Communication Disorders and began in 1961.
